# Influencer outreach email template for affiliate programs

By the RecruitAffiliates.ai team · 26 October 2026 · 8 min read

Facts about other tools come from their own sites, with the date we checked. [Our editorial policy](https://recruitaffiliates.ai/editorial-policy) · [About us](https://recruitaffiliates.ai/about).

In short

A good influencer outreach email for an affiliate program is four short parts: one true line about their work, one line on what you sell, the offer in plain numbers, and one small question. Keep it under 100 words. Below are three copy-and-paste versions and ten subject lines. Our first search on 30 Shopify brands showed 92 people for the typical brand, and about 30 of them had an email found.

A good influencer outreach email for an affiliate program says four things in under 100 words. One line shows you read their work. One line says what you sell. One line gives the offer in plain numbers. One small question ends it. Copy a version below and change every part in brackets.

A **creator** here means anyone with an audience, such as a blogger, podcaster or video maker. An **affiliate program** pays them a **commission**, a cut of each sale they send you. An **outreach email** is the first message you send to someone who doesn't know you yet. This guide gives you three templates, ten subject lines and a follow-up. For the thinking behind them, read our [guide to writing an affiliate recruitment email](https://recruitaffiliates.ai/blog/affiliate-recruitment-email).

## Why are program emails different from other outreach?

You aren't asking for a favor. You are offering a way to earn. A sponsorship email says "post about us for a fee". A program email says "send us buyers and keep a cut". That changes what the creator needs to read.

So the offer goes in the email, with numbers. They need to know what they would earn before they will reply. Leave out contracts, calendar links and long company histories. Those come after a yes.

## What is the copy-and-paste email?

Use this when you have never spoken to the person. Write the first line by hand for each one.

**Subject:** your [rival] review

Hi [first name],

Your [post, video or episode] on [topic] was the clearest I've seen. [One true thing you liked.]

I'm [name] at [brand]. We make [one-line description].

We pay [X]% on every sale you send, for [length]. I can send you a free [product] first, no strings.

Would you like the details?

[Name]

[Brand, postal address]

If you'd rather not hear from me, reply no and I won't write again.

Four parts do the work. The first line proves you looked. The second says who you are. The third states the offer. The last asks for something small. Remove the free product line if you can't afford one.

Two things belong in every cold email, by law in many places. Those are the opt-out line and your business's postal address, both under your name. The warm and review-site versions need them too. The US Federal Trade Commission's guide says a commercial message must include "your valid physical postal address" and a clear explanation of how to opt out, and that the law makes "no exception for business-to-business email" ([FTC CAN-SPAM guide](https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/can-spam-act-compliance-guide-business), August 2023, checked 26 October 2026). Rules differ by country. Some places also ask for consent before you write. This is not legal advice.

### A filled-in example

Here is the cold version for a made-up tea brand, with sample figures filled in.

**Subject:** your oolong review

Hi Sam,

Your oolong review explained the roast levels better than anything else I've read.

I'm Alex at Kettleworks. We sell small-batch loose-leaf tea.

We pay 20% on every sale you send, for 12 months. I can send you a free tin first, no strings.

Would you like the details?

Alex

Kettleworks, [postal address]

If you'd rather not hear from me, reply no and I won't write again.

## What are the three versions?

Pick the one that matches how well you know the person. Each is under 100 words. The first template above is the cold version.

| Version | Use it when | What changes |
|---|---|---|
| Cold | They have never heard of you | First line names their work. Offer comes third |
| Warm | They already buy or follow you | First line thanks them. Offer comes second |
| Review site | They run a page that ranks or compares products | First line names the page. Ask to be included, then offer a commission |

### The warm version

**Subject:** thank you, and an idea

Hi [first name],

Thanks for buying [product] and for [what they did, such as the photo you tagged us in].

We're starting an affiliate program. You'd earn [X]% on every sale you send. If you'd like a link, say the word and I'll send it today.

[Name]

### The review site version

**Subject:** [product category] roundup

Hi [first name],

I read your "best [product type]" roundup. The section on [specific point] helped me.

I'd love to send you [product] for a look. If you like it and list it, I can also set you up with [X]% on every sale from your page.

Can I send one over?

[Name]

A **roundup** is a page that ranks several products, such as "best natural skincare brands". In our scan of 30 public Shopify brands, 64% of the people shown had a review, roundup or comparison page as their strongest page (1,877 of 2,924, 22 October 2026). "Review-style" is a label on the page, not a count of review sites. Even so, this version fits the biggest group we saw ([the counts](https://recruitaffiliates.ai/research/who-promotes-shopify-brands-2026)).

## What subject lines work?

Keep a subject line short and about them. A **subject line** is the title they see before they open the email. Ten to try:

1. your [rival] review
2. question about your [topic] post
3. [first name], a thought on [topic]
4. a free [product] for you
5. an idea for your [topic] readers
6. [brand] and your [podcast, blog or channel]
7. loved your [specific episode or post]
8. quick one about [topic]
9. a sample for your [topic] review
10. working with you on [topic]

We suggest you avoid ALL CAPS, exclamation marks and the words "partnership opportunity". Those read like mass mail. Change one thing at a time. Count which subject lines get replies and keep the best.

## How long should it be, and how do you follow up?

We suggest under 100 words. Assume the creator reads it on a phone between other things. Every extra line is another reason to close it.

Follow up in the same thread, so they see your first email under it. Wait about four days, then send two lines.

Hi [first name], wanted to make sure this didn't get buried. Happy to send the details if useful.

Wait about five more days and send a last note.

One last note from me. If [topic] comes up with your readers, the offer is open.

Stop the moment they reply, even if the answer is no. Our [first 10 affiliates in 14 days plan](https://recruitaffiliates.ai/blog/first-10-affiliates-in-14-days) shows how to pace your sending from a new inbox.

## What should you not say?

Leave these out of the first email.

- **"I love your content."** It could go to anyone.
- **A long list of your features.** They are weighing what they earn, not how your product works.
- **A vague offer** such as "a generous commission". Give a number.
- **A required post.** Ask for a look, not a promise.
- **A call to book time.** Offer one after they reply.

## How do you find their email?

Start with their contact or about page. Some creators list an address for brands. If they ask for a message through a form, use the form. Don't guess addresses.

Doing that by hand for each person is slow. We ran our software's first search on 30 public Shopify brands on 22 October 2026. It showed 92 people for the typical brand (the median, or middle brand when ranked). The typical brand had 30 with an email found. That is a floor, because the search ran on default settings. On 24 October 2026, on a paid plan with a full setup, 3 Shopify shops showed a median of 693 people each, mostly from YouTube ([the follow-up](https://recruitaffiliates.ai/research/who-promotes-shopify-brands-2026)). "Email found" means an address was on record for that person. We did not check it.

First-search results for a US seed company: 150 people found, including gardening podcasts and bloggers who review rival seed companies.

A first search for a home and garden brand, 22 Oct 2026. Counts on screen were read on 23 Oct and can differ by one or two from the 22 Oct scan. Individual bloggers' details, email addresses and rival brand names are blurred. Podcast and publication names, and public guests named in episode titles, are shown.

Some of those people are not promoters. An AI model read the page title and address of 30 random rows. It judged 9 not to be promoters (30%, a likely range of 17% to 48%). The [scan method and limits](https://recruitaffiliates.ai/research/shopify-affiliate-scan-2026) are on their own page.

If you want the list and the first drafts done for you, RecruitAffiliates.ai finds the websites, blogs, review sites, podcasts and creators already promoting your rivals. It gets their email and shows whether each address was checked ([what each result means](https://docs.recruitaffiliates.ai/credits#what-each-result-means)). It writes a personal first email from real facts about each person. You approve it, and it sends from your own inbox. Our guide to [affiliate outreach software](https://recruitaffiliates.ai/blog/affiliate-outreach-software) compares the options.

## Frequently asked questions

### What should an influencer outreach email say?

Four things: one true line about their work, one line on what you sell, the offer in plain numbers, and one small question. Skip contracts, calendar links and long company histories.

### How long should it be?

Under 100 words. A creator reads it on a phone between other tasks. Short emails are easier to answer.

### When should I follow up?

About four days after the first email, in the same thread, with two lines. Send one last note about five days later. Stop as soon as they reply.

### How do I find their email?

Check their contact or about page first. Some creators list an address for brands. In our scan, an email was on record for about 3 in 10 people shown (916 of 2,924). For a long list, use a tool that finds the address and shows where it came from.
