Facts about other tools come from their own sites, with the date we checked. We make RecruitAffiliates.ai, one of the tools named here. [Editorial policy](https://recruitaffiliates.ai/editorial-policy) · [About us](https://recruitaffiliates.ai/about).

In short

Turn off auto-approval, add sign-up questions, and turn on Detect Coupon Leaks and Dynamic Coupons. Those last two are on GoAffPro's Premium plan, and Dynamic Coupons works on Shopify only. Cap each code's uses, and consider paying on referral links. Then invite affiliates who fit.

To stop coupon sites in GoAffPro, turn off auto-approval and check each applicant. Then turn on Detect Coupon Leaks and Dynamic Coupons. GoAffPro lists both as Premium features, and Dynamic Coupons works on Shopify stores only. Cap how often each code can be used. We think the best defence is a programme full of people who fit.

This page covers GoAffPro's own settings. For the same steps in other apps, read our guide to [stopping coupon sites joining your affiliate program](https://recruitaffiliates.ai/blog/stop-coupon-sites-affiliate-program).

A **coupon site** lists discount codes for lots of shops. A shopper who's about to pay can search for a code and use it. If a coupon site is your **affiliate**, it can earn commission on sales you'd have had anyway. A **code leak** is when an affiliate's code ends up on a site like that.

## What do GoAffPro users say about coupon sites?

Of the 30 reviews on the newest three pages of GoAffPro's listing (4 June to 19 October 2026), four discuss coupon codes. A fifth mentions discount codes in passing. They are dated 29 June to 17 September. One was about coupon scraping. One was about affiliates reusing existing codes and UTM tags. Two said scraping happens in any affiliate app. The listing averages 4.6 stars from 952 reviews. We read the newest three pages on 23 October 2026 on the [GoAffPro App Store reviews page](https://apps.shopify.com/goaffpro/reviews):

- **29 June 2026.** One reviewer wrote that the app "lacks basic fraud protection against coupon leaks". The reviewer said sites that collect codes from many shops could copy them automatically. That copying is called scraping.
- **25 July 2026.** A reviewer said affiliates were "hijacking" existing discount codes and UTM tags. UTM tags are the extra bits on a link that show where a visit came from. The reviewer said the store paid out over $20,000 in commissions it saw as fraudulent.
- **16 and 17 September 2026.** Two reviewers, with similar wording, said coupon scraping can happen in any affiliate app. One says they only use referral links and the other mainly. They keep coupon codes for promotions and change them often.

GoAffPro replied to the July review on 26 July 2026. It said merchants can "review, approve, or reject commissions before any payouts". It said that store was on its Free Plan and that it takes no share of commissions. It also said it has features to prevent unwanted attribution in many scenarios. Attribution means deciding which affiliate gets credit for a sale. Unwanted attribution is credit going to the wrong one. Merchants must set those features up to fit their needs. GoAffPro does have a leak alert, on its Premium plan (see the table below). The June review does not say which plan the store used. We have not tested how well the alert catches leaks. Four reviews can't tell us how common this is. They do suggest checking your settings before your first big payout.

## Which GoAffPro settings help, and on which plan?

The settings below come from GoAffPro's own docs, checked on 23 October 2026. The advice around them is ours. The plan column comes from its Premium plan, Business plan and pricing pages ([Premium](https://docs.goaffpro.com/pricing/premium-plan), [pricing](https://docs.goaffpro.com/pricing)). Where the docs don't name a plan, the table says so. The Business plan page also lists fraud management tools without naming them.

| Setting | What it does | Plan, per the docs |
|---|---|---|
| Auto approve registrations (off) | New applicants wait for your yes | Not stated |
| Extra form fields | Asks applicants for more detail | Not stated |
| Country limits | Allows or blocks whole countries | Not stated |
| Detect Coupon Leaks | Alerts you when a code appears on a coupon site | Premium or Business |
| Dynamic Coupons | Gives each affiliate a code that refreshes. Shopify only | Premium or Business |
| Usage limits on automatic codes | One use per customer, a total cap, new customers only | Free (Hobby) plan lists automatic coupons. The limits page names no plan |
| Block Google Ads | Rejects or holds sales that came through a Google ad click | Not stated |
| Blocked IP/Origins | Blocks commission from named sites | Premium or Business |

## Step 1: Turn off auto-approval

Open Settings, then General, then Affiliate Registrations. Untick "Auto approve registrations". New sign-ups then wait in Affiliates, then Pending Approval. If marketplace sign-ups bring coupon sites, turn your marketplace listing off in the Marketplace tab. The marketplace is where affiliates browse brands and apply. The listing is a Premium feature ([pricing docs](https://docs.goaffpro.com/pricing/premium-plan)). You can also block or delete an account from its profile ([GoAffPro docs](https://docs.goaffpro.com/how-tos/prevent-unwanted-registrations), checked 23 October 2026).

GoAffPro's own guide for stopping spam and unwanted sign-ups lists this first ([GoAffPro docs](https://docs.goaffpro.com/how-tos/prevent-unwanted-registrations), checked 23 October 2026). On the same screen, Setup Geo-Blocking lets you allow sign-ups from some countries or block some. You pick one list type.

## Step 2: Ask questions and screen each applicant

Add sign-up fields under Look and Feel, then Signup Page, then Select & Customize ([GoAffPro docs](https://docs.goaffpro.com/how-tos/prevent-unwanted-registrations), checked 23 October 2026). GoAffPro lets you mark a field as required ([GoAffPro docs](https://docs.goaffpro.com/affiliate-portal-customization/signup-page/create-new-signup-field), checked 23 October 2026). Add one required field: "Link to where you'll promote us."

Then open that link and run five checks. These are our rule of thumb, not GoAffPro's.

| Check | Looks like a real creator | Looks like a coupon site |
|---|---|---|
| What the site is about | One topic, such as skincare | Hundreds of shops, sorted A to Z |
| What's on the page | Reviews, how-tos, photos | Lists of codes and "verified" badges |
| Who runs it | A name and a way to reach them | No person you can find |
| Their audience | Real comments and followers | None, or none that make sense |
| Your brand on it | Not yet, or a review of you | A page for your shop with codes |

## Step 3: Turn on Detect Coupon Leaks

Go to the Coupons tab, then Detect Coupon Leaks, and switch it on. GoAffPro then alerts you when a coupon leaks on coupon sites ([GoAffPro docs](https://docs.goaffpro.com/affiliate-coupons/enable-coupon-code-leak-detection), checked 23 October 2026).

Click "View leaked coupons" to see the code and the affiliate it belongs to. The page also shows leaked codes that weren't given to an affiliate. Remove the code or block the affiliate. Then click "Mark as actioned" ([GoAffPro docs](https://docs.goaffpro.com/affiliate-coupons/enable-coupon-code-leak-detection/coupon-leak-detection), checked 23 October 2026).

This is a Premium feature, per GoAffPro's Premium plan page. On the free plan, search Google once a month for your brand name plus "coupon" or "promo code".

## Step 4: Make codes harder to reuse

There are three ways to cut the cost of a copied code.

1. **Dynamic Coupons.** Each affiliate gets a code that refreshes after an hour. It's applied when a shopper clicks their link. The code no longer shows in the affiliate's dashboard. They share only their link. It's for Shopify stores only ([GoAffPro docs](https://docs.goaffpro.com/affiliate-coupons/enable-dynamic-coupons), checked 23 October 2026).
2. **Usage limits.** Under Coupons, then Automatic Coupons, you can limit each code to one use per customer. You can also cap the total uses. Or give the discount to new customers only ([GoAffPro docs](https://docs.goaffpro.com/affiliate-coupons/setup-referral-coupons/automatically-generate-coupons/set-coupon-usage-limits), checked 23 October 2026).
3. **Switch off code tracking.** Go to Settings, then Advanced, then Conversion Preference Order. Turn off "Coupon code tracking". Sales that used an affiliate code are then not tracked ([GoAffPro docs](https://docs.goaffpro.com/affiliate-coupons/advanced-settings/disable-coupon-code-tracking), checked 23 October 2026). Two September reviewers say they pay commission only, or mainly, on referral links. They do not say how they set that up. The docs do not list the other tracking modes, so open the same screen and see what is still on. If only link tracking is on, a copied code earns no one a commission. Approved coupon sites can still send link clicks. Steps 1 and 2 are for those.

The cost: some creators on YouTube, podcasts and TikTok share a code instead of a link. With code tracking off, they earn nothing on those sales. Dynamic Coupons also hide the code from creators who like to share one. Keep it on if your best affiliates promote that way. Use the usage limits in item 2 instead.

Say a shopper was already going to pay for a $60 order. They find a 10% code that belongs to one of your affiliates on a coupon site. You give away $6, then pay the affiliate commission on the sale, depending on your commission settings. That's money spent on a sale you'd have made anyway. Pay on links, and that sale stops costing you commission. The shopper still gets the $6.

## Step 5: Block the sales you don't want to pay for

In its 26 July reply, GoAffPro said merchants can review, approve or reject commissions before any payout. Do that before each payout. Detect Coupon Leaks watches for codes on coupon sites. The docs do not say it checks link or UTM misuse, so check how each sale arrived (see Conversion Details below).

GoAffPro's fraud guide lists three more settings, all in the docs ([GoAffPro docs](https://docs.goaffpro.com/how-tos/prevent-affiliate-fraud), checked 23 October 2026):

- **Block Google Ads.** Under Settings, then Advanced. It rejects, or holds, sales that came through a Google ad click. That helps if an affiliate bids on your brand name.
- **Blocked IP/Origins.** This is listed under Premium. Add a site, and clicks from it earn no commission. An origin is the website a click came from.
- **Conversion Details.** Turn this column on in the All Sales table. It shows how each sale arrived.

Also write a rule against coupon sites into your affiliate terms. GoAffPro lets you edit the terms and privacy policy of your affiliate portal, and lists legal page editing under Premium. Its docs say default terms are already set and advise against changing them, so have someone check any edit ([GoAffPro docs](https://docs.goaffpro.com/affiliate-portal-customization/affiliate-portal-profile/legal), checked 23 October 2026).

## Step 6: Invite people who fit

Screening keeps the wrong people out, but it won't bring the right ones in. If your queue is mostly coupon sites, check whether you've asked anyone who fits.

The affiliates worth having already promote shops like yours. They write "best [product]" posts and gift guides. They run review sites and newsletters, and show products on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.

As of 23 October 2026, RecruitAffiliates.ai finds them for you. It gets the [email found](https://docs.recruitaffiliates.ai/credits#what-each-result-means) for each person and sends a personal outreach sequence from your inbox. All you do is reply. Every email carries your own GoAffPro sign-up link. People join through the page you've already set up, and you screen them there. It works alongside GoAffPro with no integration. Launch is $79 a month, with a 7-day free trial and no card. Our guide to [recruiting affiliates for GoAffPro](https://recruitaffiliates.ai/goaffpro/recruit-affiliates) shows the full process. Our [GoAffPro alternatives](https://recruitaffiliates.ai/goaffpro/alternatives) page compares the other apps. The [GoAffPro hub](https://recruitaffiliates.ai/goaffpro) lists every plan.

## What did our scans find?

Our own search flags some prospects as coupon or deals sites. The flag is rough, so we show it only as a guide to how many sites our search returns look like coupon sites. These are prospects our tool found, not people who applied to a GoAffPro programme.

We ran this · 22 October 2026

Our filter flagged about 6 in 100 people as coupon or deals sites, but it was wrong on the one flagged row we checked.

- **The nine GoAffPro shops:** the typical shop had 3 people flagged (the range was 2 to 17). That is 52 of the 873 shown, 6.0%.
- **All 30 shops:** 168 of 2,924 people shown were flagged, 5.7%.
- **The flag is not reliable.** In a check of 30 random rows (judged by an AI model from page title and address, pages not opened), the one flagged row was wrong: an editorial roundup flagged for deals language. The sample held no coupon site, so we do not know how many the flag misses.
- **Read it as a rough guide.** Screen every applicant by hand, whatever the number says.
- **In that check,** 9 of 30 rows looked like non-promoters.

A first search for each of 30 public Shopify shops, 22 Oct 2026. We picked the shops by hand from our outbound list, and which app each uses comes from that list, so this is not a share of the market. Nine use GoAffPro, and seven of those nine are UK shops. It stopped at finding addresses and ran no email checks, which the product runs when a campaign starts ([what each result means](https://docs.recruitaffiliates.ai/credits#what-each-result-means)). In a 30-row check, 9 were not promoters (likely 17% to 48%). [Full method and limits](https://recruitaffiliates.ai/research/shopify-affiliate-scan-2026).

## Questions people ask

### How do I stop coupon sites joining my GoAffPro programme?

Untick "Auto approve registrations" under Settings, then General. Check each applicant's site before you approve. Add a required sign-up field for where they'll promote you.

### Does GoAffPro detect leaked coupon codes?

Yes. Its docs describe a feature called Detect Coupon Leaks. It alerts you when a code appears on a coupon site. GoAffPro lists it as a Premium feature, and its Business plan page lists it too ([Business plan](https://docs.goaffpro.com/pricing/business-plan-membership)). Premium was $49 a month when we checked on 23 October 2026 ([pricing docs](https://docs.goaffpro.com/pricing/premium-plan), [App Store](https://apps.shopify.com/goaffpro)).

### Can GoAffPro pay affiliates on referral links only?

Mostly. In Settings, then Advanced, you can turn off Coupon code tracking. The docs say sales made with an affiliate code are then not tracked. Check the other tracking modes on that screen before you count on links only.

### Are coupon problems only a GoAffPro problem?

Possibly. Two September 2026 reviewers, one with a 6-day-old install, said coupon scraping happens in any affiliate app. Two reviews are not a survey, and we did not test other apps for this page. Our [guide to screening in five apps](https://recruitaffiliates.ai/blog/stop-coupon-sites-affiliate-program) shows where each app keeps its settings.

### Should I ban coupon sites completely?

Not always. Some brands pay coupon and cashback sites on purpose. If you do, give them their own codes so you can see what they bring in. The aim is to choose, not to let them in by default.
