How we score

Every score is four parts you can read

Each affiliate we show gets a score out of 100. Open one and you see the four parts, the points for each, and the line that explains them.

An affiliate is someone who promotes your product and earns a cut of each sale they send you.

The four parts

PartOut ofWhat it asks
How closely they cover your topic40Does their page match your keywords and the rivals you named? Where it ranks in Google for those words counts. So does naming a rival.
How big their audience is30Is it the size you asked for, in the countries you sell to? Size comes from traffic bands. If we can't measure it, the row says "not known".
Recent activity20When did they last publish something on your topic? If we can't date their pages, the row says so, and the points stay middling.
Commercial fit10Do they already promote products like yours? Is there a public way to write to them?

What the total means

  • 80 to 100: Strong fit.
  • 60 to 79: Good fit.
  • 40 to 59: Possible match.
  • Under 40: Weak fit.

The total is a way to sort the list. The parts are the reason. Read the parts before you write to anyone.

The rules we keep

  • Proof only lifts. A page that shows someone already earns commission raises their score. It never pushes anyone else down.
  • A strong fit needs a real page. If the only page we have is their home page, the score stops one point short of Strong fit.
  • We don't make up numbers. No audience figure means "not known", not a guess. A podcast's downloads belong to the host, so we say they aren't measured.
  • Only evidence the row keeps. Every point traces to a page or a figure you can open from the row.
  • You can't pay for rank. Nobody buys a better score.
  • Every score keeps its version. When a rule changes, the version changes. A score is stored with the version it was made under.
