Shopify Collabs
Shopify Collabs invite limit and paused sign-ups: what to do
Shopify Collabs lets you invite up to 100 creators in any 7-day period, and it has paused open creator sign-ups. But a new creator can still make a Collabs account when a brand invites them or accepts their application. So you can keep recruiting.
Both limits come from Shopify's own help pages, which we read on 22 October 2026. A creator here means someone with an audience on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or a similar app.
What is the Shopify Collabs invite limit?
The limit is 100 invites in any 7-day period. Shopify's recruiting page says: "You can invite up to 100 creators in any 7-day period." (Shopify Help Center, checked 22 October 2026.)
Three details matter.
- It reads as a rolling window. Shopify's wording is "any 7-day period", not "each week". The "Invitations used" counter shows your live count, so check it before you send a batch.
- Invites expire. An invite lapses after 30 days if the creator doesn't answer (Shopify Help Center, checked 22 October 2026).
- You can see your count. The "Invitations used" number on the Invite creators page shows how many you've spent (Shopify Help Center, checked 22 October 2026).
Some stores get a short boost. If the import option shows on your Overview page, you can import and invite up to 1,000 creators in any 7-day period. It lasts 30 days from when Shopify switched it on, then drops back to 100. Shopify's migration page says you "can't opt in or request access" to it (Shopify Help Center, checked 22 October 2026).
Are Shopify Collabs creator sign-ups paused?
Yes, for creators signing up on their own. Shopify says: "Collabs isn't accepting new creator signups at this time." (Shopify Help Center, checked 22 October 2026.) It gives no date for when it started or ends.
The creators' setup page adds the detail brands need (Shopify Help Center, checked 22 October 2026):
- A creator "can currently create a Collabs account only if you're directly invited by a brand, or by submitting an application".
- "Merchants can continue to send direct invites to creators."
- And "creator applications can still be accepted by merchants."
- Creators with existing brand partnerships can still use the app.
The pause closes the open door. It doesn't close yours. No creator can open a new account on their own. But anyone you invite, or anyone who applies through your store, can still join.
Why is Shopify Collabs not working for me?
When Collabs seems not to work, check these in order.
| What you see | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| You can't send more invites | You've used 100 in the last 7 days | Check the counter, then space invites out |
| Invites sit unanswered | They expire after 30 days | Follow up by email before day 30 |
| A creator says they can't sign up | Open sign-ups are paused | Send your invite or application page, not the Collabs home page |
| The search shows the same faces | Open sign-ups are paused, which may be why. This is our guess | Recruit outside Collabs and send people your sign-up link |
| Collabs won't open at all | It needs Shopify Network Intelligence on | Turn it on in your privacy settings (Shopify Help Center, checked 22 October 2026) |

How do I get more from 100 invites a week?
Treat each invite as scarce. Shopify's recruiting page says you can't invite more once you reach the limit.
- Filter before you invite (our suggestion). Collabs' Recruiting search filters by keyword and location. You can narrow it by platform or audience size too. Search for words your buyers use, not your brand name.
- Check their posts first (our suggestion). Open the creator's last few posts. Do they ever name a product and say why they like it? If not, skip them.
- Start with smaller audiences. Use the audience filter to see smaller accounts first. A small account is quicker to check, and you lose less if one goes quiet.
- Space your invites (our suggestion). Send a few a day instead of 100 in one go, and check the counter as you go.
- Follow up outside the app. If a creator lists an email on their profile, send one short note saying the invite is waiting.
How do I recruit through applications?
Use your store's application page. We haven't tested whether accepting an application counts against the invite cap. Shopify says it "lets creators and brand fans discover your program and apply directly on your online store" (Shopify Help Center, checked 22 October 2026). Submitting an application is one of the two ways a new creator can still make an account. Shopify's pages describe the 100 cap as a limit on invites and mention no limit on applications.
Then send people the right link.
- Link it from your store. Put "Become an affiliate" in your footer and your order emails. Your customers already know the product.
- Find who promotes your rivals. Search Google for "best [your product]", "[rival] review" and "[rival] discount code". The blogs, review sites and newsletters on those pages may already earn from shops like yours. Our guide to finding creators for Collabs walks through it, and our page for Shopify stores shows a scan.
- Email them the right link. One short note, one link. Send creators to your application page. Send bloggers and newsletter writers an affiliate sign-up link. We haven't tested whether non-creators can apply through Collabs.
RecruitAffiliates.ai does the finding and emailing for you. It finds people who promote your rivals. That means websites, blogs, review sites, newsletters and podcasts. It also covers YouTube channels, and Instagram and TikTok creators. It gets the email found for each person and sends a personal outreach sequence from your inbox. All you do is reply. Each email carries your own sign-up link. It isn't connected to Collabs, and it doesn't use your Collabs invites. We make RecruitAffiliates.ai, so weigh that when you read this.
How many people does a first scan find?
We ran our scanner on 30 public Shopify brands. These figures are from those first scans.
We ran this · 22 October 2026
A first scan showed a median of 92 people per brand, with a median of 30 having an email on record.
- Median 92 people shown per brand, from 35 to 188. Median 30 had an email address on record.
- 11 of the 30 brands had more than 100 people shown.
- These people were found on the open web. We did not test whether any has a Collabs profile.

A first search for a brand, 22 Oct 2026, 30 public Shopify brands in all. It stopped at finding addresses and ran no email checks, which the product runs when a campaign starts (what each result means). In a 30-row check, 9 were not promoters (likely 17% to 48%). Full method and limits.
Should I switch away from Collabs?
Not just because of these limits. Collabs is free to install, and commission is billed through your Shopify bill (Shopify Help Center, checked 22 October 2026). If your problem is finding people, a new app won't fix it on its own. Collabs waits for people to apply or for you to invite them.
Switch when you need a feature Collabs doesn't offer, such as a listing in an affiliate marketplace. Our Collabs alternatives and Collabs vs UpPromote pages compare the options, with dated prices.
Questions people ask
How many creators can I invite on Shopify Collabs?
Up to 100 creators in any 7-day period. Shopify says "any 7-day period" and doesn't spell out the mechanics. The counter shows what you have left, so watch it. Invites expire after 30 days.
Can I ask Shopify to raise the Collabs invite limit?
Shopify's help pages don't describe a way to raise it. A temporary boost to 1,000 invites a week shows up for some stores. Shopify says you can't opt in or request it.
Can new creators still join Shopify Collabs?
Yes, through a brand. Shopify says a new creator can create an account only when a brand invites them directly or they submit an application. They can't sign up on their own while the pause lasts.
When will Shopify Collabs take open sign-ups again?
Shopify hasn't said. Its help page only says Collabs "isn't accepting new creator signups at this time". We'll update this page when that changes.
Does RecruitAffiliates.ai use my Collabs invites?
It doesn't send Collabs invites. It finds people outside Collabs and emails them your sign-up link. Creators can apply through your application page, which Shopify still allows.
