Refersion
How to recruit affiliates for your Refersion programme
To recruit affiliates for a Refersion programme, link your sign-up page and list an offer on its marketplace. Add the post-purchase widget too. Then email the people you want. Refersion's own guide describes active outreach, where you pick affiliates and contact them. It also describes passive recruiting, where you make your programme easy to find. Most of its tools wait for people to come to you. So the first few emails are yours to send.
An affiliate is anyone who sends you buyers for a cut of each sale. That cut is the commission. Refersion tracks those sales and pays the commission. Facts about Refersion come from its own pages, with the date we read them.
What recruiting tools does Refersion have?
Its recruiting guide lists these (Refersion blog, last modified 14 June 2024, checked 23 October 2026):
| Route | Who moves first | Who you reach | Effort (our estimate) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Registration page | The affiliate | Anyone who finds your store or link | Set up once |
| Post-purchase widget | The customer | Customers, after checkout | Set up once |
| Marketplace listing | The affiliate | Affiliates browsing Refersion | Set up once, then check applications |
| Affiliate Recommendations | Refersion | Affiliates matched to your audience | Ask Refersion |
| Premium Ecommerce Affiliates | Refersion's team | Partners chosen by Refersion's publisher team | Paid, no price given |
| Email you send yourself | You | The people you pick | Slow by hand. We haven't timed it |
The guide says outreach "is most effective when you have a few specific affiliates in mind". Plans change, so ask Refersion which plan includes each route before you pay. Its pricing page lists "Personalized affiliate discovery" on Launch but doesn't define it (Refersion pricing, checked 23 October 2026).
How does the Refersion sign-up page work?
The sign-up page is where a new affiliate creates an account. Refersion's help article says to "Share your unique affiliate registration link during campaigns". You can also "embed your affiliate sign-up page directly onto your website" (Refersion support, checked 23 October 2026).
New sign-ups show up under Affiliates, then My Affiliates, then Pending, and you review each one before approving. Your team gets an email when someone registers. Check that the right address is set under Email Notifications, or you may miss people.
Link the page from your footer with the words "Become an affiliate". Put it in your order emails and on a page of its own. If you email the link, say what you pay and what they get.
How do the approval settings work?
New sign-ups sit in Pending until you act. Approving needs a paid plan. The pricing FAQ says you must upgrade to review or approve affiliates. The same goes for tracking referrals and paying commission (Refersion pricing, checked 23 October 2026).
Refersion's marketplace article says you do not have to approve every application. It suggests using your own form fields to judge fit (Refersion support, dated 22 July 2026). We'd ask for a website or social link, and one line on how they will promote you. Our guide to the Refersion marketplace covers what it does and doesn't do.
What does the post-purchase widget do?
Refersion's guide says the widget shows a pop-up after checkout that "invites customers to signup as affiliates". It is described as available through integrations such as Shopify and BigCommerce (Refersion blog, last modified 14 June 2024).
That route only reaches people who already bought. It is good for a brand with happy customers. It does not bring in a blog writer who has never bought from you.
How do you email someone you want to recruit?
The help article we read describes sharing your registration link, with no built-in email invite. Check your dashboard. If there is none, send the link from your own inbox. Here are five steps.
- Pick ten people. Search your rivals' names plus "review" or "best". Open each page and check it is live and recent.
- Find an email address. Look for a contact page or an address in their bio.
- Write three lines. Say one true thing about their page, what you pay, and what they get.
- Send your sign-up link. They apply through the Refersion page, and you approve them.
- Follow up once, a few days later.
A short email could read:
Hi Sam, [one true thing about their page]. We pay 15% on every sale, and we'll send you a free set. Here is our sign-up link: [your sign-up link]. Reply if you have questions.
We have no outcome data on this exact email, so treat it as a suggestion.
Where do you find more people?
Not every promoter opens a marketplace. A review site that covers your rivals already has readers. A podcast host has listeners. They may not know you exist until you write. Our scanner found people like that for public Shopify brands. We did not record which of them use Refersion.
We ran this · 22 October 2026
A first scan showed a median of 92 people per brand
- Median 92 people shown per brand, from 35 to 188.
- 64% had a review, roundup or comparison page as their best evidence.
- 916 of 2,924 (31%) had an email address on record, found but not checked.

A first search for a brand, 22 Oct 2026, 30 public Shopify brands in all. It stopped at finding addresses and ran no email checks, which the product runs when a campaign starts (what each result means). In a 30-row check, 9 were not promoters (likely 17% to 48%). Full method and limits.
Most of what came back was review and roundup pages. Creators were a small share: 49 TikTok and 17 Instagram out of 2,924 people. If you want a number to aim at, the free affiliate calculator turns a sales goal into a list size.
How does RecruitAffiliates.ai fit?
It works alongside Refersion, with no integration. It finds websites, blogs, review sites, newsletters, podcasts, YouTube channels, and Instagram and TikTok creators who promote your rivals. It gets each person's verified email and sends a personal outreach sequence from your inbox. You handle the replies. Each email carries your own Refersion registration link. Applicants arrive in your Pending list, and you decide who gets in. Start with the Refersion overview, or compare tools in Refersion alternatives. See our pricing. Launch costs $79 a month, and the trial is 7 days with no card.
