UpPromote alternatives: tracking and finding affiliates (2026)

The main UpPromote alternatives are GoAffPro, Refersion and Social Snowball for running the programme, and Modash or RecruitAffiliates.ai for finding people to join it. Pick by the job that hurts. Do you need to track and pay, or to fill the programme?

UpPromote is an affiliate app on the Shopify App Store. An affiliate is anyone who sends you buyers for a cut of each sale, and that cut is the commission. A creator is someone with an audience on Instagram, TikTok or YouTube.

Why do brands look for an UpPromote alternative?

Two reviewers wrote complaints in its App Store reviews. These are their views, not a verdict. The first is cost against results. One reviewer wrote "The Starter add-on costs $39/month and includes just 35 profile views" (UpPromote App Store review, 14 October 2026). The second is junk applicants. Another reviewer wrote "I'm getting scam and trash affiliates" (UpPromote App Store review, 14 September 2026). Our screening guide covers it.

UpPromote has a free plan and is rated 4.9 from 3,904 reviews (Shopify App Store, checked 23 October 2026). Its own docs say the marketplace is "just one way to find affiliates" (UpPromote docs). So for some brands the gap is not the tracker. It is people.

Which tools can replace UpPromote?

GoAffPro, Refersion and Social Snowball are listed as tracking tools on their own pages. First, UpPromote itself, for comparison.

UpPromote has a free plan. Growth is $29.99 a month plus 2% of referral sales. Paid plans have a 14-day trial (UpPromote pricing, checked 23 October 2026). The marketplace listing starts on Growth (UpPromote docs). Creator Discovery is a paid search for creators across three social apps, from $39 a month (UpPromote docs). Fraud protection is on every plan (UpPromote docs).

GoAffPro has a free plan called Hobby, built for stores with fewer than 100 daily orders. Premium is $49 a month, and Business starts at $99 (GoAffPro pricing). Its docs show a marketplace listing that shows your store to affiliates in its network (GoAffPro docs). It is rated 4.6 from 952 reviews (Shopify App Store). Its Recruit tab, a Premium feature, lets you search influencers and invite them (GoAffPro docs). Our UpPromote vs GoAffPro page compares the two in full.

Refersion has a free marketplace listing. Launch is $39 a month, or $29 billed yearly, with a 3% fee on affiliate-driven sales. Growth is $199 with a 2% fee (Refersion pricing). The page says reviewing and approving affiliates takes a paid plan (Refersion pricing).

Social Snowball starts at $249 a month plus 3% of affiliate revenue (Shopify App Store). Its $899 plan lists "Creator Search & Outreach" (Shopify App Store). It is rated 4.6 from 211 reviews. Its listing describes it as an affiliate app. Our Social Snowball guides go deeper.

If you also use Shopify Collabs, see Collabs vs UpPromote.

Which tools help you find people?

Modash's search and RecruitAffiliates.ai don't replace UpPromote's tracking. You add the people they find to the app you already run.

Modash searches creators on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube (Modash pricing, checked 23 October 2026). Essentials is $199 a month with 150 creator emails a month. The 14-day trial needs no card (Modash pricing). Affiliate management comes with the $499 Performance plan (Modash pricing).

RecruitAffiliates.ai starts from your website and your rivals. It finds websites, blogs, review sites, newsletters, podcasts, YouTube channels, and Instagram and TikTok creators who appear to promote or write about shops like yours. It looks for an email address for each person (what each result means) and sends a personal outreach sequence from your inbox. All you do is reply. Each email carries your own UpPromote registration link, so people join the programme you already run. It doesn't connect to UpPromote, track sales or pay commission. Our page for Shopify stores covers how it works for them, and the free competitor checker lets you test one rival first.

What did our scans find?

We ran our scanner on public Shopify brands to count the sites, shows and creators that cover brands like these. Here is what came back.

We ran this · 22 October 2026

We ran our scanner on 30 public Shopify brands

  • A first search showed a median of about 92 people per brand, from 35 to 188.
  • Of the 2,924 people shown, 1,877 (64%) had a review, roundup or comparison page as their strongest evidence. Another 573 (20%) were blog-style pages.
  • 916 of the 2,924 (31%) had an email address on record. These were found, not checked for delivery in this test, and some are generic addresses such as info@.
  • 14 of the 30 brands run UpPromote and 9 run GoAffPro, going by the list we picked them from. For the 14, the median was 86 people and 27 email addresses per brand. For the 9, it was 93 people and 30 addresses.
  • An AI model read 30 random rows against each page's title and address, without opening the pages. 19 were a clear fit, 2 a loose fit and 9 (30%, a range of about 17% to 48%) were not promoters.
First-search results for a US supplement brand: 188 people found, led by gut-health podcasts and bloggers who review a rival brand.
A first search for a health and supplements brand, 22 Oct 2026. This is the largest result of the 30 (median 92). Individual creators' and bloggers' names, handles, sites and email addresses are blurred, and so are rival brand names. Podcast shows and publications are shown. Counts were read on 23 Oct and differ by one or two from the 22 Oct scan.

This was our scanner's first search on 30 public Shopify brands on 22 October 2026. It stopped at finding addresses and ran no email checks, which the product runs when a campaign starts (how). An AI model read 30 shown rows by title and address, and 9 were not promoters. 14 of the 30 brands run UpPromote, going by our source list, which is not market share. Full method and limits.

Each median is the middle value of six brands, rounded to a whole number, from our scan of 30 public Shopify brands on 22 October 2026. Our scan did not test marketplace coverage, so it can't show what any marketplace misses.

To see the spread, compare two brands. A US supplements brand had the most results, 188 people shown, and 79 of them had a review or roundup page. A US fashion brand had the fewest US results, 49 people. Counts depend a lot on the brand and its rivals.

How do I choose?

  1. UpPromote works, but nobody good joins. Keep it. Add a finding tool and send people your registration link.
  2. You mostly pay the fee and want it lower. Compare a fee on sales (UpPromote, Refersion, Social Snowball) with a flat plan. GoAffPro's pricing page lists no fee on sales (GoAffPro pricing, checked 23 October 2026).
  3. You want creators for gifting. A creator search such as Modash or UpPromote's Creator Discovery fits, and tracking stays in your app.
  4. You're spending your time rejecting applicants. Tighten the settings in our screening guide before you change app.

Questions people ask

What is the best free alternative to UpPromote?

Shopify Collabs is free to install. GoAffPro's free Hobby plan is another free option, and Refersion has a free marketplace listing. See Collabs vs UpPromote. Pick GoAffPro if you want a free tracker and UpPromote's free plan doesn't fit.

Is there an UpPromote alternative that finds affiliates for me?

Modash's creator search finds people. Its pricing page lists affiliate management only on the $499 plan (Modash pricing). RecruitAffiliates.ai finds people but doesn't track or pay. Social Snowball's top plan lists creator search and outreach (Shopify App Store).

Can I use two affiliate apps at once?

We'd avoid it, since two trackers can both claim the same sale. Use one app to track and pay, and a separate way to find people.

Is RecruitAffiliates.ai a Shopify app?

No. It is a web app that works alongside your affiliate app. It has no UpPromote integration.
