AI tools for affiliate marketing: what they can do for recruiting

AI tools can do three jobs in affiliate recruiting. They can find people who may promote you, judge how well each one fits, and write a first draft of an email. They can't make anyone reply, and a general chatbot can invent names. Use AI for the slow parts and check the rest yourself.

Affiliate marketing is a way to sell where other people recommend your product and earn a cut of each sale. Recruiting here means finding those people and asking them to join. An AI tool is software that uses a language model, the kind of program behind chatbots, to read, sort or write text.

A note before we start. We make RecruitAffiliates.ai, one of the tools below. Lists like this one, from vendors, are promotional, and ours is too. For tools we do not make, we take facts from the vendor's own page and give the date we checked.

What can AI do for recruiting?

AI does three jobs well.

  1. Find likely people. A tool searches for blogs, videos and creators that already talk about brands like yours.
  2. Judge fit. It reads a page and scores how well the person matches your product. A score is a guide, not a verdict.
  3. Write a first draft. It drafts an outreach email from what it read about the person. You edit it.

Reporting on replies and sales sits mostly in trackers, so we leave it out here.

This is where time goes. On 22 October 2026 we ran a first search on 30 public Shopify brands. In our own run each search took about four minutes a brand. It showed a median of about 92 people per brand (our scan of 30 Shopify brands). A median is the middle value. The tool does the searching. It does not tell you how many of them will reply, and we don't publish reply rates.

What can AI not do?

Three limits matter:

  • It can't promise it's right. A general chatbot may invent a name, a handle or an address. Modash warns that AI tools "can invent handles or lean on stale data", so check each profile (Modash, checked 26 October 2026). A finder that shows the page where it found each person is safer, because you can look.
  • It can't make an offer worth taking. A well-written email for a weak offer still gets a no. Set your commission and terms first. See what to offer affiliates.
  • It can't carry the legal duty. You are the sender. In the US, the CAN-SPAM Act, the US law on commercial email, "makes no exception for business-to-business email". It needs a postal address and an opt-out (FTC, checked 26 October 2026). An opt-out is a clear way to stop future mail. Other countries have their own rules.

What types of AI tool are there?

Tools fall into four groups, and many do more than one.

TypeWhat it doesExamples
General assistantsDraft emails, summarize pages, brainstorm, from what you paste inChatGPT, Claude
FindersSearch for people already promoting brands like yours, often with a fit scoreRecruitAffiliates.ai, AffiliateFinder.ai
Creator searchFind creators by topic and audience, for brands that work with creatorsModash
Outreach writersDraft and send a sequence from your inboxAffiliateFinder.ai, RecruitAffiliates.ai

A tracker records which sale came from which affiliate and works out what you owe. Trackers mostly handle links and payouts rather than finding people, and a recruited affiliate needs both, so they matter. Our platform guide compares them.

What does a fair list look like?

Here is a side by side of three tools, then a short note on each. Facts come from each vendor's own page, checked on 26 October 2026.

ChatGPT and Claude. General assistants. Paste in a person's page and your offer, and they will draft an email. They are general tools, so they do not keep an outreach list for you.

Modash. A creator search tool. Essentials is $199 a month. The 14-day trial needs no card and is capped at 20 profile views (opened creator profiles) and 6 email lookups (each one is a search for one person's address). It has AI Search, which finds creators from a plain-language prompt. It also has an AI connector, which links Claude or ChatGPT to your account (Modash pricing, checked 26 October 2026).

AffiliateFinder.ai. Finds creators and partners, and writes and sends outreach. Pro is $99 a month ($69 a month billed yearly) with a 7-day trial. Its page lists 150 "verified email credits" and 150 AI-generated emails a month. It gives each affiliate a fit score from 0 to 100 (AffiliateFinder.ai, checked 26 October 2026). See our AffiliateFinder.ai alternatives for a side-by-side, and our comparison with Modash.

RecruitAffiliates.ai (ours). You type your website. It suggests your rivals. Then it searches for websites, blogs, review sites, newsletters, podcasts and creators that mention them. It shows the page where it found each. It looks for an email address for each person. Each email lookup is one search for one person's address (how lookups are counted). It can send an outreach sequence, a set of follow-up emails, from your inbox. Most of each email is fixed text with your facts filled in. A small AI model writes the subject and one line about who you are, and you approve each email before it sends (how sending works). Websites and podcasts get a fit score out of 100. It comes from topic cover, audience size, recent activity and signs they already earn commission (how we score). AI reads a page's text to say what kind of site it is. YouTube rows show YouTube's own numbers. It does not track sales, so pair it with a tracker. Launch is $79 a month for 1 brand, with a 7-day trial that includes 20 email lookups (pricing).

First-search results for a US supplement brand: 188 people shown, led by gut-health podcasts and bloggers who review a rival brand, each with a fit score.
The largest first search in our scan of 30 shops: 188 people shown, 45 with an email found. The median was about 92. Email addresses, rival brand names and some site names are blurred. The podcasts shown are public.

How do I test an AI tool before I pay?

Run the same short test on each tool. It takes about an hour.

  1. Use one brand you know well. Type in your own site.
  2. Open ten results. Do the pages show what the tool says? A good tool shows its source.
  3. Check the fit. How many of the ten could plausibly promote you? Say you sell candles. If six of your ten results review candles or home gifts, that is a good sign. If six are coupon sites, it is not.
  4. Check the addresses. Does the tool say how it found each one, and whether it checked it?
  5. Read three drafts. Would you send them? Do they use real details from the person's page?
  6. Count the cost. What does a search, a lookup and a send cost on the plan you would pick?
  7. Ask what it can't do. A tool that says so is more honest than one that doesn't.

Then compare. Tools that look alike on a feature list can feel very different in this test.

Frequently asked questions

What AI tools help with affiliate marketing?

General assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude help with writing. Finder tools such as RecruitAffiliates.ai and AffiliateFinder.ai help you find people, and creator search tools such as Modash help you find creators. Trackers handle links and payouts.

Can AI find affiliates?

Yes, when a tool searches real pages and shows where it found each person. A chatbot on its own may invent names, so check every result.

Can AI write outreach emails?

Yes, as a first draft. The best drafts use real details from the person's page and make one small ask. Read and edit each one before it goes out, and follow the email laws where you send.
